Description
These beautiful sterling silver earrings have been exclusively produced for Westminster Abbey inspired by the famous Rose Window. The window inside Westminster Abbey shows Christ surrounded by sixteen figures; symbolising the Virtues and order of angels. In the outer circle thirty-two figures from Jewish and ancient tradition represent the preparation of the world for Christ.
This window, the largest of its type, is thirty-two feet across. Devised by G.F. Bodley and M.R. James it was painted by Burlison and Grylls and given as a memorial to Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster 1825-1899.
