Description
Exclusively designed and made for Westminster Abbey this coaster is shows the South Rose Window of Westminster Abbey. The window shows Christ surrounded by sixteen figures symbolising the Virtues and order of angels. In the outer circle thirty-two figures from Jewish and ancient tradition represent the preparation of the world for Christ. This window, the largest of its type, is thirty-two feet across. Devised by G.F. Bodley and M.R. James it was painted by Burlison and Grylls and given as a memorial to Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster 1825-1899. The window was dedicated on 26 September 1902. This coaster is made in the UK .
